pingpong

Current Scenario
It’s rare to find a PingPong table in an office facility unoccupied and there are high chances the employees you would like to play with are busy during your free time.

Goal
Provide a design proposal for web/mobile where employees can
• Team up with players working in the same office building
• View and book an available time slot
• When booking a time slot, the system should notify if you or your team players have a conflicting meeting or appointment
• Facility managers might be interested in generating a timely report to gauge employee
engagement in games. The report should have both a tabular and graphical view

End Users
-
People working in the building who are interested in playing TT. They can be beginners or experts.

How do people currently find available TT slots?
-
By visiting the area where the tables are located
-
Word of mouth/text/call from employees who are already in the location or visited it earlier

Problem with the existing solution
-
It takes manual effort to go to the location and find a table. Not finding an available slot could lead to frustration/disappointment
-
If the employees plan on going in groups of 2-4, it would be unpleasant if they do not find the required number of available slots.
-
The time when the employees reach the location may or may not be optimal for the game that is already commenced.
-
Word of mouth may not be the best solution. Since the tables are available for everyone in the building, employees from another company may occupy it by the time one reaches the venue.

Proposal
Using the PingPong app, users in the building should be able to book a slot accurately and cancel if necessary. Users should be able to book more than 1 slot at a particular time if available. The app will also provide a report on employee engagement.
